POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: BUS DRIVER(S) - FULL-TIME SCHEDULE
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP AND PENNSAUKEN CAMPUSES
Deadline: This position will be filled in no less than ten (10) days after the date of this posting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with school bus and passenger endorsement.
2. Minimum of three years previous safe driving experience. (No tickets and/or violations from any
jurisdiction – except parking.)
3. Sufficient mechanical aptitude to diagnose minor problems.
4. Ability to maintain passenger discipline to ensure their safety and well-being and protect against
vandalism.
5. Successfully undergo a criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien
status.
6. Meets the health requirements required of all personnel.
7. Meets NJ residency requirements or willingness to relocate to NJ within 365 days of employment.
8. Must follow the guidelines of the Camden County Policy, File Code: 0142.1.

POSITION GOALS: To transport pupils in a safe and efficient manner and perform all activities
related to the operation of the school bus.
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics and Student Activities
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct a pre-trip safety inspection of the bus prior to every trip and complete the related written bus
inspection report(s).
2. Notify designated maintenance personnel of any mechanical malfunctions and/or safety hazards.
3. Notify the proper authority in the event of mechanical failure or lateness.
4. Adhere to established routes, designated bus stops and keep to assigned time schedules.
5. Transport only authorized pupils.
6. Obey all traffic laws and observe mandatory school bus safety regulations.
7. Use bus emergency equipment, including cellular phones, according to district guidelines and state
laws.
8. Enforce regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
9. Maintain discipline on the bus and report violations and/or vandalism to the principal or designee.
10. Report all accidents and pupil injuries; complete required reports.
11. Participate in emergency evacuation drills in accordance with board policy and instruct passengers
regarding safety regulations and other bus rules.
12. Perform required interior bus cleaning duties following each trip and clean windows and exterior as
needed.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by the director of athletics and student activities or designee.
