POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE:
SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER, LEARNING DISABILITIES TEACHER CONSULTANT
OR SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP AND PENNSAUKEN CAMPUS
Deadline: This position will be filled in no less than ten (10) days after the date of this posting.
Requirements:
1. Valid New Jersey Certificate in any of the following: School Social Worker, Learning Diabilities
Teacher Consultant or School Psychologist.
2. Participate in the evaluation, classification, and placement of all students with
disabilities.
3. Ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Successfully undergo a criminal history check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal
resident alien status.
6. Meet the health qualifications required of all personnel.
7. Meets NJ residency requirements or willingness to relocate to
NJ within 365 days of employment.
8. Must follow the guidelines of the Camden County Technical
Schools’ Nepotism Policy, File Code: 0142.1.

POSITION GOALS: To help students succeed academically, socially, behaviorally and emotionally.
To collaborate with educators, parents and other professionals to create safe,
healthy and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections
between home, school and the community for all students.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor assigned per the CCTS' Organizational Chart.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participate in the evaluation, classification, and placement of all students with disabilities.
2. Collect social histories for the purpose of assessing the educational, emotional, social,
and behavioral needs of those students referred.
3. Interpret the findings reported in the social histories and assist in the development
and implementation of an appropriate IEP for each student requiring special education
and/or related services.
4. Participate in the ongoing evlaution of the educational progress of classified students.
5. Serve as a case manager assigned and maintain appropriate case records.
6. Provide counseling to students and, as nneded, make referrals to appropriate
community resources.
7. Maintain professional competence through continuing education and other professional
growth activities.
8. Collaborate with personnel of community health and social welfare agencies.
9. Perform all duties required as a member of the child study team by administrative code,
state and federal laws, and board policy.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor per the CCTS" Organizational Chart/or
designee.
